Its a new year, and I am back to blogging! The latter part of 2017 was incredibly busy for me and blogging took a back seat- but I am back with a bang for 2018 and send my greatest  apologies for neglecting my little patch on the net! I thought I would begin the new year with a recent discovery of mine that definitely deserves a mention; The Huda Beauty Faux Filter foundation. This bad boy is an incredible base product and I have used it every day since I got it. Its been hugely celebrated online and deservedly so. Huda Kattan (in case you have been living under a rock) is a Dubai based super blogger who has an enormous following and knows just about everything there is to know about make-up. Her new foundation promises an airbrush finish, and that is exactly what it achieves.

The bottle comes with a handy pump dispenser
It is very similar in finish to Giorgio Armani's Luminous Silk (review here) in that it offers full coverage without looking cakey, and doesn't give the skin a false, two-dimensional look. What is so great about this base, is that it blends expertly, and gives your skin a totally seamless finish that still looks natural. It blurs the pores, and hides any blemishes or spots expertly. It is SO long lasting, and will not budge until you take it off at the end of the day. One pump will cover your entire face, and it is  so pigmented that concealer just isn't needed!

I use shade Custard, which is a yellow-toned nude
The foundation shades are named after desserts (I'm all about that life) and comes in a whopping 30 shades- it's great to see such a diverse colour range. I use 'Custard' which is a warn toned nude shade with yellow undertones. I tend to use a primer with this foundation to give it extra staying powder, but to be totally honest, it isn't really needed as the foundation lasts so well on its own. Available at Selfridges, Harrods and Cult beauty, its priced at £32 and worth every penny.

I am wearing #FauxFilter in this pic in strong daylight  and as you can see- it gives great coverage!
