Ive FINALLY found the perfect brown eyeshadow

Brown eye shadow. A staple in any girl’s make-up bag, regardless of age. It suits absolutely everyone’s skin tones; it’s the easiest shade to work with. Great for both the daytime, and the evening. The trick is getting the right brown for you.

I’ve been searching for a life-changing brown eye shadow for years. I’ve encountered so many, including many of the MAC offerings and also the infamous Naked palette by Urban Decay, but none have really floated my boat, so much so, that I often skip eye shadow altogether in my make-up routine.

However, I’ve called off the search, as I’ve found the one. Suede by NYX is an amazing, warm-toned camel brown that isn’t too dark or overbearing. It’s a rustic shade that looks quite subtle initially, but once applied it gives a lovely, orangey-brown payoff with flattering terracotta undertones. Buttery to touch, soft texture and incredibly blendable, this product is brilliant.

The packaging is remarkably similar to the MAC shadows; the simple black casing, circular pot and transparent lid with the product visible. Using a regular shadow brush, I apply all over the lid, ensuring I blend out, and under the waterline. A few applications of course strengthen the colour and make it more eye-catching, and equally, one simple swipe gives a far more natural look. I prefer the strong effect, as the shade is so flattering; it never looks too much. Its quite long lasting; I apply this before I leave the house at around 7.30am, and I don’t really have to reapply till around 4.30pm-ish- so not bad for a drugstore offering.

At £3.50, this inexpensive item is a real budget beauty buy. Also, NYX’s colour offerings in the Hot Singles Shadow range are incredible; they have every shade you could possibly think of. And at that price, one could afford the whole lot!
