March Favourites

And here we are again! Another month gone by, and a new batch of lovely beauty bits discovered. As always, I like a true mix of high end and drugstore products; variety is the spice of life as they say!

First up we have the Cocoa Brown Instant Tan Bronzing Gel Matte.  Now I was rather skeptical when I first saw this; admittedly it was because the packaging wasn’t quite my cup of tea- the garish pink and white lettering isn’t the most luxurious of designs. However the product itself is brilliant. It’s a gel like substance, which doesn’t smell of that telltale biscuit scent-it gives off the rather fresh aroma of watermelons! You only need the tiniest of amounts to cover each area on your body, and it glides on well and gives a really natural, warm-toned brown shade to the skin. Plus, its waterproof. A truly great offering.

My lips have been so sore these past few weeks due to the change in the weather, and I’ve been applying a slick of this Burt Bees Lip Balm just before bed as part of my nightly beauty routine. It’s a great scent; infused with pomegranate oil, which makes it super nourishing- it’s a must for keeping dry, chapped lips at bay.

I very rarely re-purchase a foundation, but this is my second bottle of L’Oreal True Match and I’m so impressed with it. In my humble opinion, it really is one of the best drugstore foundations out there. A lot of people have compared it to the Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk- stating the texture is very similar. What I love the most about this; is its super blendable. It simply melts into the skin with the lightest touch- and it isn’t too cakey, the coverage is definitely buildable. I use my Real Techniques Expert Face Brush to buff it in. I would say the finish is semi matte; it dries smooth but doesn’t give you that unwanted 2D appearance. A delicate sheen is still visible, giving you an all-round brightened base. I also love the fact it has a pump dispenser- very economical than the pouring bottles!

It’s never too late to invest in a rigorous skin care regime and this Elemis Neck and Bust Serum is the bomb. I slather this over my neck just before bed and the non-sticky substance smells delicious and really does feel like it’s tightening my neck and chest area. It is a rather pricey item, but you only need the smallest amount, and I think with certain creams, spending that little bit more does indeed pay off.

I have always felt that Soap and Glory’s skincare range is highly underrated. Most people focus on the playful packaging and sweet bath products, but their skincare is a hidden gem. I use this For Daily Youth day cream constantly. The packaging is very different to its counterparts; a handy, squeezable tube which is in a clinical white shade with simple pink lettering, and a screw top. The product itself is excellent. It has a lightweight, almost gel- like consistency, and is easily absorbable. It’s a fabulous makeup base in that way, as no residue is left once applied. And the smell!! It smells exactly like peach pudding. Yum!

Now. I received this Christian Louboutin lipstick from my two best friends last year on my birthday. I literally SQUEELED when I opened it. The shade is Belly Bloom and I would describe it as a deep rose shade with blue undertones. It def has that 90s, Kylie Jenner-esque feel. It is a matte lipstick however, and the colour payoff is quite bold, so I recommend prepping your lips beforehand. The packaging is simply exquisite. From the black and red patent box, to the gold tube with ornate detailing, it really is the most decadent item I own! Not to mention its very impressive to pull out of your handbag on a night out! Is it worth the money? Yes.. But I do think its one for the Christmas list ;)

Who doesn’t love Jo Malone? This English Pear and Freesia bath oil is simply sumptuous! I pop a few drops in my bath when I’m having a decadent pamper evening. It lightly produces delicate bubbles and smells delicious. My skin always feels so soft when I get out of the bath after using this. Plus it looks great on your bathroom shelf. Shallow- me?

Lastly, I simply cant live without Batiste dry shampoo. I try not to wash my hair constantly as they say it does strip your hair of its natural oils, so this bad boy is a godsend between washes. This new Tropical Edition  reminds me of holidays- it smells deeply of coconuts so perfect for the summer months.
